This is a brand new course which Pira says is aimed at anyone involved in print buying for marketing, publishing and packaging, and particularly those who are either new to the role or have had no previous formal training.
The three-day course will allow attendees to get to grips with the basics and then move on to more detailed methodologies for getting print procurement right first time. It includes a visit to a printer, practical exercises and discussions, and a social event that Pira says will be an ideal occasion to share ideas with colleagues.
As well as knowledge of the print industry and how to deal with print suppliers, the course aims to educate further on getting specifications right first time, understanding environmental issues, and the threats and opportunities provided by new technology.
